Beauty and the Beast @ Disney Movie 美女与野兽

I personally grew up on Disney,  so when they announced a reboot, I was kind of iffy about it.  This is mostly because the idea of rebooting a classic is super dangerous,  I mean... How do you top a classic? Plus the recent trend of rebooting classics are not all successful, case in point - Ghostbusters reboot. Anyhoo...I went to watch the movie with Chin Yee and I have to say it was a well-made movie, although I can't stop comparing it to the original.

公主系列的卡通更是他们的主打，从需要被王子拯救的公主到喜爱冒险的公主，形形色色的公主角色都影响着每一代的小孩。

First, let's talk about what I like about the movie. The cinematography was beautiful and all the songs we love are there with some new ones added in. I have to say I absolutely love the song Evermore by Dan Stevens. The actors did a good job in the movie and Le Fou is adorable. I have to say Gaston is quite yummy compared to his cartoon counterpart. The movie also made Gaston more evil or maybe more evil in my eyes because I don't remember Gaston as evil in the original, but then again both versions tried to get Belle's father into an asylum and tried to kill the beast so still plenty evil. They also upgraded Belle so that she can invent stuff like a machine to wash clothes. Emma Watson's Belle is a bit more tomboyish than the Belle I know, so I wasn't sure I liked it at first but I kind of accepted it as the movie progresses. I also love the musical numbers performed, especially when the song Gaston came on. The actors all sang pretty well, although it was a bit weird to hear Olaf as Le Fou at first.

However, the movie falls flat when it tries to recreate the talking furniture etc. I prefer the animated version where all the servants are more expressive and somehow feels more real to me. The CGI are good, don't get me wrong but I prefer the animated ones better because you can see their features and expressions better. It's just not the same with CGI. The movie also added a bit of historical element in like the war and the habit for excess in France at the time, which honestly I could do without. I mean it's something more put into in, but it did nothing for the movie.The music was good, but in my opinion, the classic Beauty and the Beast song by Angela Lansbury still is the best version. Besides that, the movie is entitled Beauty and the Beast but I feel like some of the supporting characters outshine the leads. Lastly, is it weird that I like the beast better than the prince? I have always like the beast better even in the original classic. The prince is just meh, kind of boring while the beast is interesting and honestly more manly (exactly my kind of guy).

近年来，迪士尼一直在真人化很多经典卡通电影或是以某位配角作为主角而推出的电影。我并没有将所有被真人化的电影都看完，但也看了大部分的。我能说的是这一部《美女与野兽》非常忠于原著。

首先说说故事剧情场景，它算是很完整重现所有的场景，无论是村庄、城堡、甚至是城堡里的所有细节，它都重现地很完善。不得不说，他们真的下了很多功夫。
在家具人物方面，他们弄得更加细致了，人物塑造也很完整。从茶壶太太的慈母形象到管家间的斗嘴，都让我看得很入戏，不会觉得突兀。

人物选角方面，我也不会说太多，只能说除了两位主角，其他的我都很满意。为什么不满意主角呢？也不是讨厌，只是艾玛华森的妙丽让我对她迟迟摆脱不了那印象，然后男主角嘛，老实说，还不够帅。哈哈哈~

至于歌舞就更加不用说了，迪士尼就是品质保证，歌曲也都很好听，场面更是华丽万分，很完整重现卡通里的一切！

All in all, it is an enjoyable movie that you should definitely watch and if you feel nostalgic, you can also go back and watch the original classic.

比起以往的真人化卡通，这一部算是佳作。我非常推荐，而且值得一看再看。
接下来，就让我们看看之后的真人化卡通是否能够延续这一次的佳评。
